Learn to Read Piano Notes and Play Easy Songs!
 

Have you ever heard the song “Auld Lang Syne”?  If you have, you’ll be glad to know that you can learn to play it on the piano easily.  Many people want to learn piano playing and one of the most essential lessons is to learn piano notes.  

Take a look at your piano and give particular attention to the black keys.  The song “Auld Lang Syne” can be played easily by using just five of those black notes.  Some say that piano notes can be difficult to learn.  However, many experts believe that if you put your heart into it, you can learn all those notes quickly! 

If you have a piano teacher, or if you are trying to learn to read piano notes on your own with a book/CD/DVD, you’ll learn the first names of all the notes.  You should hopefully have your own piano.  If not, then try imagining a piano.  You’ll have to touch the piano keys and learn to recognize the sound of the notes.  This will make learning a lot easier for you. 

You’ll also need to learn techniques in visualization so that you can imagine the keyboard at any time and envision the exact location of all the notes.  The keyboards map is referred to as the Grand Staff, and you can interpret this easily if you learn how to play piano notes.  If you can immediately identify a note, then you’ll understand the chords easily also.

For example:  you’re playing the first 7 tab notes.  This is, of course, the C-major scale and you are playing the notes C D E F G A, & B.   As you go through your lessons, you’ll know about the other scales and their notes.  You must memorize all the notes on the keyboard to actually play the piano.  But, of course, you’ll learn to play the easier notes to begin with.  Once you’ve mastered them, you can learn piano notes that are more difficult.  Make sure you don’t forget about the ones you’ve already learned! 

If you only want to be at your piano and play just the simplest music, all you need to learn is at least 2 keys for every single scale.  Suppose, of instance, you’re playing the major chord C.  The notes on the scale include:  C, E, & G.  You can play these notes simultaneously and you will be able to create simple piano music!  But, if you want to play the advanced piano songs, then memorize and know all the notes by heart.   

So, you need to understand that learning all the piano notes isn’t a game.  It’s a difficult task to accomplish, especially for those who have problems memorizing things.  Try to create a picture of a piano in your mind and think of the note of each key.  Do this every single day for a couple of minutes and think of the piano notes to learn.  Try keeping the image in your mind as long as you can.  Playing the piano is fun, obviously, but you must be patient!
